Hi there

My name is Emma (you can call me Em) I’m the face behind Salt and Chocolate, a little business I’ve dreamed up over many years, combining my passions for delicious food, organic produce, and slow living.

You could say I have a big sweet tooth! I have the fondest childhood memories of helping my Nan in the kitchen, baking amazing cakes, cookies, and slices. A bit later in life, I ventured into the world of holistic health and nutrition, and started learning how food can nourish us. At first, this discovery was bad news for my sweet tooth! until I started making wholesome cakes and desserts that weren’t laden with nasties (and, in my opinion, taste far better).

I’ve been channeling my creativity into cooking and creating healthy meals and desserts for over 9 years.

Coming from a creative background (previously being a interior designer), I love experimenting with alternative ingredients, sharing treats with family and friends, and tailoring custom creations for customers. Thanks to amazing encouragement and support through word of mouth, I’m now able to offer my creations to you!

It brings me so much joy creating food for someone and bringing their ideas to life.

When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me spending time in nature, hanging out with my partner and our chocolate labradoodle Alfie, connecting with family and friends, hitting up our local organic café or bakery, or researching anything to do with sustainable living, eco homes, and small business owners who inspire me.

Our cakes are for those of us who enjoy natural sweetness, organic and seasonal ingredients, and perhaps have a few dietary requirements to work with. We love that our creations can be enjoyed by everyone, so no one gets left out at dessert time.

Our ingredients

We showcase mother nature’s delights by using high quality, organic, and seasonal ingredients.

Our cakes and desserts are free from refined sugars and can be made plant based, gluten-free, baked, or raw by request.

We sweeten our creations with raw honey, maple syrup, or dates. We use nuts, coconut, spelt, coconut flour, and chocolate from Loving Earth and Loco Love.

Our packaging

It is deeply important that our little business has minimal impact, therefore all packaging is either recyclable or compostable for the end user.

In-house we endeavor to do the same, reusing and reducing single-use where possible and buying in bulk.
